If you’re chasing that first podium, let me tell you something straight: don’t obsess about the end result!

Seriously.

I’ve seen so many young drivers stressed out thinking, “I need to get a podium, I have to win…” and honestly, that’s not how it works.

What you really need to focus on are the fundamentals.

Driving as well as you possibly can.

And then (maybe) the podium will come….

Focus on Getting Better, Not Just on Winning

Pushing the limits, making fewer mistakes, staying consistent — that’s the stuff that really matters.

If you keep working on those, the results will come.

And trust me, when they do, it’ll feel natural, like the podium was just there within reach.

Improve Every Time You Hit the Track

Each time you’re on track, aim to be a little better than last time. I meanit.

Just 1% better each day is enough. The resoults will compound over time and in a couple of years you’ll be a totally new driver.

Study your onboards. Dive into your telemetry. Understand what worked and what didn’t.

Did you mess up Turn 3 last time? Fix it.

Did your lap times drop off near the end of the session? Work on your consistency and resistance training.

These little steps add up fast.

You Can’t Shortcut Success

You won’t win races — at any level — if you’re not improving.

Hoping for a podium isn’t enough. You’ve got to earn it.

And if you’re still among the slowest drivers, the focus shouldn’t be the podium at all.

The focus should be: how do I improve and get faster?

Hard Work Makes the Podium Inevitable

Here’s the truth: if you put in the work — the real work — the podium will eventually show up relatively soon.

It obviously depends on many factors such as your package, your level of experience and the championship difficulty you’re participating in.

Though the path to the podium always requires real hard work.

After putting in all that hard work, you won’t need to chase it anymore.

It’ll just be the result of how good you’ve become. You’ll see.

That’s how it worked for me, and that’s how I believe it works for every driver who’s ever stepped onto the top step of the podium.

So, keep pushing. Stay consistent. Keep improving.

And I’ll see you at the top.
