If you really want to accelerate your progress in karting, one of the best things you can do is get high-quality feedback.

I mean, there’s no other way around it.

It’s same as in any sport.

And I’m not just talking about someone telling you, “Yeah, that lap looked good.”

I’m talking about real feedback — someone who watches your braking, your track usage, your lines — and calls you out when you’re doing something wrong.

Someone who’s keeping a close eye on you, who knows where you’re losing time, and can actually help you fix it.

Why Coaching Helps

Let’s say you’re braking too soft, or you’re not using the full width of the track.

A coach will spot that immediately and help you correct it. At least a good one can.

Whether it’s in person or through a remote session with data and video — that outside perspective is gold.

You don’t always need a super expensive private coach every single day.

You can get huge value from a few targeted coaching sessions where you go deep into your weaknesses and work on them one by one.

Just like I did.

Progress Over Perfection

The goal in karting isn’t to be perfect overnight (which by the way you can’t).

It’s to make consistent progress.

Session by session. Race by race.

Even if you started karting later than others or feel behind on experience, that doesn’t mean you can’t close the gap.

The goal is to get better each week out on track — to reduce mistakes, become more consistent, and keep climbing the karting “ladder”.

Every top driver — even world champions — has always got something to improve. You”ll never quite be “arrived”. And this is what F1 world Champpions say, not just me.

That’s how this sport works.

Don’t Just Train — Train the Right Way

Yes, seat time is important. But doing laps with bad habits only locks in those bad habits deeper.

You need quality practice, not just quantity.

  • Drive with a purpose.
  • Analyze your data.
  • Get feedback from someone who knows what to look for.

That’s how you build performance that lasts, not just a decent lap here and there.

Long-Term Wins

When you start fixing the weak areas in your driving, your results improve, and not just for one race.

You become a much more complete as a driver. You gain confidence. And that sticks with you.

It’s not about quick fixes. It’s about lasting progress.

Final Thoughts

Coaching isn’t about pointing out what your bad at — it’s about unlocking your fullest potential.

Whether it’s in-person at the track or remote video and data reviews, a solid coaching session can completely transform your driving.

So if you’re serious about becoming a better driver, start there.

Focus on progress, train the right way, and keep showing up ready to improve.
